A Safe Place
As a church, we are the reflection of God’s love – and at SPC we believe the same love is also reflected in our teaching environment. Your kids will find SPC to be a safe and comfortable place they can come to hear the word of God, be loved for who they are, and understand that they are a child of God as they take the first steps towards a life of following Jesus.
At SPC all volunteers are required to complete a Washington State Patrol Form in order that we ensure they have no record. In addition, we seek to provide an environment with a minimum of 2 adults per class and a 1 adult to 9 children ratio. Our volunteers receive training in basic classroom management covering instruction, motivation, and discipline. All management techniques reinforce our belief that everyone is to be treated as a child of God.
Sign-in & Sign-out Procedure
To ensure the safety of your child(ren), we require parents to adhere to basic sign-in and sign-out procedures for their children. Beginning September 11, please note new procedure outlined at Fall Sunday School here.
Well Child Policy for Sunday School
In order to provide a safe and healthy environment for all our children and teachers, please do not bring your child to Sunday School if he/she has any of the following:
- Fever within the last 24 hours
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea within the last 24 hours
- Runny nose with green or yellow discharge
- Persistent cough
- Sore throat/inflamed mouth or throat
- Any unexplained rash
- Any skin infection
- Pinkeye or any other eye infection
- Head lice (child should be free of all nits)
- Exposure to a communicable disease
SPC caregivers will not administer any medications. Thank you for your cooperation!
Registration & Allergies
We ask that parents fill out a registration card for each child with basic contact and allergy information. Registration cards are available at the sign-in table in the Sanctuary Hall or you can email Emily Snyder. Whenever possible, we make an effort to be a nut-free environment. We do not serve snacks at Sunday School.
Emergency Preparedness
SPC is committed to making every preparation possible to assure the safety of your child in the event of a natural or unnatural disaster. Many of our staff members are CPR certified and have undergone first aid training. Our classrooms are equipped with first aid kits and an evacuation route map.
