Then the children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

-Matthew 19:13-14

Children's Ministry

The mission of SPC Children’s Ministry is for every child to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord, Savior, and Friend in a nurturing and joyful environment.

Objectives:

  1. To deepen faith
  2. To grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and God’s Word
  3. To foster relationships with peers and adults
  4. To become caring, comforting, empathetic community members

At SPC, we aspire to live in an authentic community where Christ’s love is reflected in our relationships and experiences. We believe every child is a child of God and we seek to live out the commitment we make at baptism to teach our children the Good News of Jesus Christ, to encourage their Christian faith and service, and to strengthen their ties to Christ’s Church. As we live out the grace, truth and love of Jesus Christ, we hope to embody the deep joy found in our relationship with Christ and to laugh, study, sing, and live out our faith with one another.

As we partner with parents in this mission, we hope to provide a safe and comfortable place for children to grow as disciples and encounter the living God at work in their lives. Sammamish Presbyterian Church strives to not only nurture and grow, but learn from the gifts, questions and perspective of our children.
