What is a place of comfort in your life right now? When can comfort be a good thing, and when can it become a problem?
In Amos 6–8, what do you notice about the ways Israel had become comfortable, even as injustice and suffering grew up around them? What happened to their ability to see clearly or feel deeply about life around them? Where do you see this in our world today?
Amos describes a people who had religious practices, prosperity, and confidence in God’s blessing; yet, they had become spiritually complacent. How might this have happened?
Where might God be inviting you to wake up, be more attentive, or lean into courage right now? What might you need to allow God to disrupt? Pray about this with at least one other person, and continue to pray for each other this week.
