The concern Tamar has for her friend is beautiful, but even more so, it is active. She does something for her friend. Tell us about a time you not only had concern for a friend, but you provided care—and tell us what that care looked like.
Why is it that we often only show concern for a friend or neighbor but don’t actively pursue care for them?
The faith we see in Tamar and her friends in the midst of suffering is inspiring. How would you describe your own faith in the midst of suffering, and how can we strengthen our faith in such times?
Jesus does something shocking: he first forgives the man’s sins; he heals a spiritual wound before the physical. Why do you think he does that?
That Jesus first forgives the man’s sins—what does that mean for the care we provide for our friends and neighbors?
