Hope of Jesus' 2nd Coming
In this sermon, part of the Surprised by Hope: Hope in Practice series, Rev. Jake Medcalf focused on the significance of the second coming of Jesus as explored through the lens of Apostle Paul's final letter to Timothy. Speaking from a cold, dark Roman cell, Paul penned his thoughts with urgency and love. Jake emphasized that Paul's message about Jesus’s return and judgment is a call to live with an urgency to do good, build the kingdom, and understand judgment as a moment when all pain and injustice will be set right. The sermon explored how accountability in our lives aligns with God's loving judgment and how everything done out of faith, hope, and love has an enduring, eternal quality.
