Graves into Gardens | Amos 9:13–15 | Rev. Jake Medcalf | September 20, 2026

In this concluding sermon of our Amos series, Rev. Jake Medcalf reflected on Amos 9:13–15 and the profound message of hope found even in the midst of ruin. He walked us through the historical context of Israel’s exile, inviting us to imagine standing in the rubble of Bethel and acknowledging both the brokenness around us and the rubble we create in our own lives. Pastor Jake reminded us that God is not finished with us yet. Through Jesus Christ, God inaugurated His kingdom and began the work of recreation and renewal. We were challenged and encouraged to recognize our calling as the church—to be sent into the world as broken healers, helping rebuild ruined cities and offering a tangible foretaste of God’s redemptive love.
